This Privacy Policy applies to the Rock Identifier mobile application provided by Glipo (the "Service Provider"). By using Rock Identifier, you acknowledge the processing described below.
Information We Process
Rock Identifier may process:
- Specimen photos: images you capture or select for rock, mineral, crystal, or possible fossil identification.
- App preferences: language, measurement system, onboarding state, and notification preferences.
- Purchase status: subscription status needed to provide premium features. Payment details remain with Apple and its payment partners.
- Diagnostics and feedback: limited technical and result metadata such as feature type, result label, confidence, locale, and whether you marked a result as helpful.
How Photos Are Used
A photo you submit for identification is securely transmitted to the AI processing service required to generate the requested result. The image is used to provide the analysis, operate and protect the service, and troubleshoot failures.
Sending feedback does not upload or attach your specimen photo. Feedback contains text and result metadata only.
Service Providers
Rock Identifier uses service providers for AI processing, application configuration and analytics, subscription management through Adapty, Apple StoreKit payments, and secure gateway protection. These providers process limited data only as needed to perform their functions and under their own contractual, privacy, and security obligations.
Local Storage and Retention
Identification history, saved collection entries, and preferences are stored locally on your device. You can remove saved entries in the app or remove local app data by deleting the app.
Service-side logs and diagnostic metadata are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, reliability, legal obligations, and support.
Your Choices and Rights
You decide which photos to submit and whether to send feedback. Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of applicable personal information by contacting us. We may need limited information to verify and complete your request.
Children
Rock Identifier is not directed to children under 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed where required.
Security
The Service Provider uses commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the app, service providers, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest version.
